I am a web designer-graphic designer living in Charlotte, North Carolina. I think that my greatest strength is my ability to work in any area of design, whether it is online or print. I have worked with large teams as well as independently, usually from concept development to final implementation. Whether it's locking myself away to code some script or creating brand identity, I am extremely passionate about what I do. Additionally, I am very organized, detail-oriented, and driven by constantly learning new skills.
Although I was professionally trained as a graphic designer, web design has taken on greater prominence in my professional life. I find it gratifying to take a project and build it from the ground up. I generally design all of the graphics used in my projects as well as hash out my own code.
Having a graphic design background has enhanced my programming skills in that it allows me to think more creatively and abstractly about web layout and the coding necessary to achieve the look that I want. On the flip side, programming has strengthened my graphic design skills by allowing me to see the complete picture - to embrace the internet's limitations as well as to take advantage of new technologies. The constant advancement of these technologies is what motivates me....what lights my creative fire.
To sum it all up, I love designing things, and I'm not happy unless I'm learning something new.
